Mel is the current (2007) president of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology.  He has recently retired from a senior faculty position in the College of Human Ecology at East Carolina University, where he had taught since 1973.  He has been a frequent presenter at NASAP conferences and ICASSI summer institutes and has also presented on Adlerian topics nationally and in Europe.   He received a Diplomate in Adlerian Psychology from NASAP in 2004 and is a contributing editor to the Journal of Individual Psychology.  He is a member of the APA,  AAMFT and NASAP.
