Dr. Myklebust is the Mental and Chemical Health Supervisor in Intermediate District 287, a district which provides a wide array of educational services to thirteen member school districts in Hennepin County , as well as to the Minneapolis Public Schools.

She works with children, teenagers, and young adults with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, neurobiological disorders, traumatic brain injury and mental health issues. Dr. Myklebust uses PET and SPECT scans to teach students about the brain and psychotropic medication. She believes that students learn best from a multi-modal, interactive approach and likes to involve students as peer teachers.

About her work, Dr. Myklebust says, "I can't imagine a more noble profession than working with children - there is no pretense, pomp, or hidden agenda. Every day is 'good enough.'"
