How long does the Master's Program take?
Most students finish their Master's degrees in 2-1/2 - 3 years, but it can also be completed in as little as 18 months depending on how much time the student wants to dedicate to the program. Students may take as long as 7 years to complete the master's program.

How will I fit school in my schedule when I work full time?
Adler's Master's program was specifically designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working adults. Classes generally are held in the evenings and on weekends. Click here to view the current class schedule.

What can I do with my degree?
You are eligible to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist upon completion of the MA degree. After completion of the certificate specialties you can become either a Personal Life Coach or a Corporate Consultant.

Alumni have used their Adlerian backgrounds in hundreds of ways.  Many become licensed therapists and find employment at mental health clinics, community, veterans, or state hospitals, community mental health programs, county programs, or private practice.  Some use their degrees to become supervisors, managers, team leaders, instructors or executives of nonprofit organizations.  Adler graduates have created a variety of businesses and private practices in a large range of service areas.  The monthly newsletter often features an alumna story and is a good resource for more information.  Click here to sign up for the newsletter.

What is the school atmosphere like?
The atmosphere at AGS is warm and friendly, following the Adlerian principles of equality, community and social interest. Faculty are easily accessible with all phone numbers published. Staff is always available to answer questions. Students often work together on assignments and the classroom learning is lively with discussions. Classes are small and students really get to know each other and form lifetime friendships.  Adlerian psychology contains many wonderful principles for living which faculty, staff, and students value and use to create a lively learning community.

Can I take the specializations separately from the masters program?
You can attend the Certificate specialty areas with only an undergraduate degree, but in order to qualify for an Art Therapy specialty the student must either be enrolled in the MA program at AGS or have already attained a clinical MA degree.

Will the school help me find an internship?
Yes.  We maintain contact with many internship sites and are continually adding new sites.  One of our best sources of new internship sites is our student body - if you have a site in mind, contact our Director of Student Services for information on the approval process for new internship sites. Click here for more information about the internship experience at AGS.

Is AGS handicap accessible?
Yes.  Adler's facility is equipped with ramps, elevators, and doors that accommodate wheelchair users.  In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, our Director of Student Services is experienced in arranging accommodations for students with a variety of disabilities.
