Robert G. Bartholow Media Center
The Library (aka as the Robert G. Bartholow Media Center) has begun the process of labeling and shelving our book collections in the Library of Congress cataloging schema. This will result in our books being grouped by subject instead of by author. Our namesake, Bob Bartholow, used to say that anything to do with the human condition was fair game for inclusion in our library. We have had to be more modest in the scope of our collections, however, as we would otherwise have a collection rivaling that of the ancient Great Library of Alexandria (Egypt), whose goal was to possess "all the books in the world". We have limited our collections to subjects closely aligned with those taught at AGS. We have created a guide to Library of Congress Call Number Classification, covering all the basic call numbers for all subjects, with detailed breakdowns in areas which are related to those taught at AGS. These can be found as a web page (searchable using the Edit/Find feature of your browser) and a .pdf file. For a more detailed breakdown of call numbers for any specific subject area (A-Z), click on the link in the main subject heading. This will take you to appropriate sections of the Library of Congress website.
