Home ›Integrating Adlerian Concepts with Resilience Research: A Framework for Kids@Home Counseling Program
This summary paper discusses models from resilience research with an Adlerian approach to a family counseling program for Kids@Home. Both resilience and Adlerian models bring a positive, strengths-based framework for assessing and intervening with under-served, lower socioeconomic status (SES) families. From this perspective, the author created a family counseling approach, tools, and intervention methods for the Kids@Home family counselor intern role. This is compiled in the Kids@Home Family Counselor Manual, the author‘s Master‘s Experiential Project. The discussion in this paper provides the psychological models and developmental underpinnings for the manual.
