Early Attachment and Domestic Abusers

This literature review observes men from birth through adulthood. Family of origin, relationships with others and attachment with others were looked at. Some men found in this study have insecure attachments with their caregivers which results in many future hardships. Behavioral issues, mental health issues and domestic abuse within relationships may arise as a result of these insecure attachments. It was found that insecure attachments or no attachments at all would result in one of these issues. Stronger educational series, continued domestic abuse programs with abusers, and programs for young people could all help reduce the future of domestic abuse.
