The Adler Graduate School is committed to:
- Facilitate Master's level learners' knowledge of Adlerian Psychology, its philosophy, principles, theories and techniques; to develop learners' skills in applying this knowledge to individuals, couples, families, organizations and communities; and to encourage learners' attitudinal development in a manner consistent with AAGS's values, mission and purposes.
- Increase Master's level learner's understanding of philosophies, principles, theories and techniques as they relate to specific professional interests such as counseling, couple & family therapy, psychology, human and organization development, addictions counseling, child and adolescent counseling, and family education; to increase learners' abilities to conceptualize, analyze and integrate diverse viewpoints.
- Increase our educational effectiveness by continually assessing learner's educational needs, academic achievements and career options through a variety of assessment and research methodologies; by assessing faculty members' developmental needs and by providing on-going feedback; and by developing new and/or modifying existing programs, courses and services to meet learner, faculty and community needs.
- Provide an organizational structure based on Adlerian principles that encourages broad participation in planning and decision-making; such structure should insure that human, financial and physical resources support identified and agreed upon purposes.
- Provide opportunities for our students, alumni, faculty, administrators, staff and directors to develop professionally and personally; to conduct research and other scholarly activities; to participate in organizations that support their professional interests; and to serve the community.
- Develop and expand community service learning by seeking collaborative partnerships with groups and organizations that focus on under-served populations, such as diverse cultures, the homeless, inmates, the aging and the under- or unemployed; to provide a framework for mutual learning, such as discussion groups, workshops, classes and internships; to encourage learners to apply the philosophy and principles of Adlerian Psychology to meet individual and community needs.
