504 Abnormal Psychology & DSM-IV/ 5

This course covers the development, symptoms, and patterns of maladjusted behavior.  Areas presented include the onset and progression of the neuroses, psychoses, personality disorders, sexual disorders and the structural and chemical disorders of the mental processes.  Students are introduced to DSM categorization and classification of psychological phenomena.  The goals of the course are for students to look at abnormal behavior from a multidisciplinary framework in order to better understand deviant behavior, as well as human behavior in general.
