"What do you first do when you learn to swim? You make mistakes, do you not? ... Well -- life is just the same as learning to swim! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live!"

How do I find out what classes I need?
The Catalog and Student Handbook lists the program requirements for each program. The Director of Student Services will meet with you one-on-one to map out an academic plan. Program directors and other faculty are also available for academic advising.

How do I find out what classes I am registered for?
If you need a reminder about your schedule you can call the Office of Student Services at 612-861-7554 x103.

How do I request a transcript?
Requests for transcripts must be submitted in writing to the registrar's office with a $5.00 fee for each request. (There is no fee for the first transcript issued after graduation.) Transcript requests require a five day lead time to process the request. Forms are available on campus or click here to download a transcript request form.

Where is my class located?
All classes are held at 1550 East 78th St. in Richfield. Classes are held on the 2nd floor. Classroom assignments will be posted on the doors with the course number and instructor name.

Where do I park? Is parking free?
There is ample free parking in our lot.

How do I drop a course?
All registration and change of registration must be made in writing. Download Drop/Add form (PDF). Download Request for Withdrawal form (PDF).  Dropping a course for either session 1 or 2 on or after the first day of any term will result in a grade of "w" (withdrawn) on the transcript which cannot be removed.

Where do I buy books?
Though AGS does not sell books directly to students, textbooks may be purchased through the AGS Bookstore at MBS Direct.  Our online AGS Bookstore service lists required and supplemental texts for all AGS classes and allows students to link directly to MBS Direct for online purchase. Many AGS course texts are also available online through other major booksellers. Click here for specific information about required textbooks.

Where is the library?
The AGS Library is on the second floor of our facility in Richfield located across from the reception area and staff offices. Library hours are Monday through Friday 1 to 8 pm if there are classes meeting, 1 to 6 pm if there are no classes that night. The library is also open Saturdays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on days when there are classes meeting.

How do I get a library card?
Student ID cards also function as library cards. They are issued during the first month of enrollment.

Are computer labs available?
There are computers available for student use in the Robert G. Bartholow Media Center. AGS also offers free wireless internet throughout our facility.

How do I gain access to the computers in the computer lab?
Computers are generally left logged in during the day. If the computer has been turned off or logged off, enter username: student and leave the password field blank.

How do I gain access to the online library database resources?
A link to the online resources is located on the Adler Library homepage. You will need a user id and password provided by the Adler Library.

Can I borrow books from any other libraries?
