About Cerenity CarMichael

Dr. CarMichael is an adjunct faculty member at Adler Graduate School, where she serves as a counselor educator and is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, bringing over 11 years of experience in behavioral health to her role. She obtained her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of counseling professionals. Additionally, she holds a dual Master of Science and Education Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University. Her areas of interest includes racial identity development, burnout prevention, self-care, the integration of technology in mental health, and advocacy for mental health access. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she manages a private telehealth practice and is committed to improving access to quality, affordable mental health care. 

Cerenity leads a research team comprised of four Black women who are pursuing their PhDs in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University. Under her guidance, the team has successfully submitted proposals for highly-regarded conferences, such as the 2024 Black Mental Health Symposium (BMHS) and the 2024 Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES) conferences. Cerenity’s diverse background and unwavering commitment to holistic well-being make her a valuable asset to mental health advocacy, reflecting her vision for a more just and empathetic world.
